Kazu Meiji
PERSONALITY The first thing you will notice about Kazu is his overly reasonable and accepting demeanor. Rarely is he ever truly ridiculous or out of line. Many people actually look to him for support in a lot of things, that's just the type of personality he has. He is a doer, not someone who will just talk about something but actually DO it because he said so. That makes him really reliable, realistic, and very very trustworthy. This concept of being trustworthy extends to the players of SAO, all of those who had ever been with him before during the first SAO would vouch for his reliability. Skilled in what he does, Kazu learned during the previous SAO mayhem that being arrogant with your skills, simply because you have them, usually ends up biting you in the ass. Humility goes a long way, and Kazu recognizes that. He is confident in his abilities... really confident, but at the same time he is realistic. He knows he cannot defeat level bosses without assistance. He understands that there are just some things in this world that you need help doing, and those that refuse the help when they need it are really foolish to him. Now, outside of the seriousness of SAO combat and progression, on the side Kazu is probably one of the most fun and adventurous people you would meet. He loves flirting and being sexual with men, no lie. He is not afraid to express his worldly desires for the flesh, his honesty stemming out because of his sex drive from time to time. It's not a bad thing really, because while he does flirt he does have his limits and knows when to keep his mouth shut always. Also, heterosexuals are not exempt from Kazu's flirtations, ESPECIALLY if you're his friend. If you're Kazu's friend most likely he'll be hanging off you most of the time while hanging out. He is nice and charming, and generally speaking Kazu is a valued person to have around. His guild members respect him entirely, them constantly wanting him to be a council member for the guild (one of the top leaders). He has such a strong and passionate desire to not separate himself from the other members of the guild like that, so like he did in the past he has refused promotions in order to stay closer to major combatants ranks. HISTORY The first time Kazu found himself in SAO he was completely different. At a young adult age he did not want to risk his life for some psychopath to have his fun. Thankfully, he of course survived. It was not without hard work and focus however. For the first 45 levels of the game he was a beater. He kept to himself and leveled up as fast as he could. Eventually he realized that he could not complete the game on his own, and so he decided to join a guild. The Divine Dragon Alliance took him in given his prowess and high level. For the next 10 level with the Divine Dragon Alliance he found himself going through the ranks and leading from the front most of the time. He realized that his skills were invaluable to the people of SAO, and the guild recognized this. By the 60th floor they promoted him from a Sentinel to an actual council member of the guild to oversee duties and regulations. With that spot in the guild Kazu found himself in less and less combat. Five floors later he decided to go back to being a mere sentinel, joining the rest of the guild fighters on the front lines almost always. During the Laughing Coffin raid he fought valiantly to take out the murderers. Claiming high praise from his guild members, he believes the battle to be bitter sweet. Upon the completion of the 75th floor and SAO being cleared a whole 25 levels early Kazu took a several year break from online gaming to focus on real world issues, such as a job. Then shit began to hit the fan again with the awakening of a new SAO, and players being trapped in the game yet again. Retrieving his old profile avatar Kazu rejoined the struggle of SAO, knowing it was his duty to go back to being a lending hand to those who needed it. He joins the other veterans returning to the world in hopes of re-establishing his unique persona and fighting capabilities in order to stop the SAO world from taking any more lives, earning and gaining new friendships along the way. Since rejoining he has helped re-establish his old guild The Divine Dragon Alliance. It's leading members wanting him to be in a position of authority, Kazu keeps refusing them because of his overall desire to fight with his men as a Sentinel of a guild. Instead of forcing him to be a council member, they've named him the leading combative general of the guild, where his command is directly on the front lines with the best warriors that the guild has to offer.
